Wednesday Medley - WHAT? WHO?

It's Wednesday morning after a big mid-term election day.  Some of us are happy, some of us are sad.  Some are excited, some are scared.

As Christians, WHAT should we do?

We must remember that none of the newly elected politicians can impact who we are in Christ.  We have an inheritance that a tax-happy senator or greedy governor cannot take away from us.

God has ordained that we live under imperfect rulers because our trust is not to be in them.

Our God was God long before there were elections and governments.  And long after these newly elected folks are no longer in office, He will still be God.  So let us not worship the winners or despair over the losers, but look to the Almighty who holds all our tomorrows and who is the One who is really in charge and holds all things together.

So WHAT can we do?

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY

Asking WHAT is fun for blog posts, but we need to also ask WHO!

Thank you Terri for hosting us today and giving us some fun questions to answer again this week.

It's all about - What, what, what???

What is your claim to fame?

My only possible claim to fame would the title of matriarch to this amazing bunch of folks that make up my family.

By the way, these pictures were taken because our Big Boy grandson, Jackson played for the Western Michigan Broncos in the Cotton Bowl on New Years Day, 2017.

What is something you like to do the old-fashioned way?

I have no idea.  I guess the answer to this would be how "old-fashioned" you want to go.  I fully embrace all the newfangled methods of doing things and much prefer to buy my butter than churning it and drinking Soy Milk instead for getting milk fresh from the udders.

When it comes to worship, I do prefer the way we did it "back in the day" with hymns, choirs, organs, sermons with some emotion, and lots of fellowship; however, I don't want to have the windows open and have to use a funeral fan.

I still occasionally send paper cards in the mail and enjoy receiving them.

I no longer make my clothes, but much prefer buying them already done.

I suppose, there really isn't much "old-fashioned way" left in my life.

What did you think you would grow out of but haven’t?

Being a perfect angel!

What is the dumbest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well?

Oh heavens, we don't have that much time or cyber space for me to list the dumb things.  Thankfully, most of what I did has turned out OK simply because the Lord has used my foolishness to protect me and others, and to bring about good to honor His name.  He does that, you know.

If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?

I love my name, Elizabeth Claire and wouldn't want to change it at all.  But, if I had to I guess I think I would choose my mother's name, Laura, or go with something cultural like Evangeline.

What is something random you can tell us about this week?

My random break down of this week:

Sunday - worshiped and prepared several future blog posts

Monday - gym, served as receptionist at the church all afternoon

Tuesday - gym, handbell rehearsal

Wednesday - gym, massage

Thursday - gym, hair appointment

Friday - gym, clean house

Saturday - go to sister's for a weekend party

  3. Well, I think your claim to fame is pretty impressive! And, a calendar is about the only old fashioned thing left that I enjoy. I'm all about convenience! Love your angel picture. And, sounds like you have everyday planned to a "t." Enjoy!

  4. First of all, I loved your intro message! and second of all, I love the family photos. Isn't it wonderful when the family can get together. Those are the best times. Sounds like you keep your week busy. I do love the old-fashioned task of making cheese, but I've just run out of one of the ingredients. I'll have to get more. It's a great wintertime project. BTW, I sure like your haircut!

  7. You're right, we have to pray and turn to God regardless of who's been elected. I'm not happy with who got IL governor but I will pray for him, so that God can bring him wisdom and make the right decisions in office.
