The only way I am sure what day of the week it is these days, is to look forward to the Wednesday Hodgepodge. Click HERE to join all the other bloggers who look forward to answering Joyce's questions each week.
1. Question day this week lands on Cinco de Mayo. Are/were tacos on your Tuesday night menu?
Yes, we had fish tacos with coleslaw
Hard shell, soft shell or just gimme all the tacos?
Soft shell
Are you even a fan of Mexican food?
Love a dish of enchiladas and a good taco salad best.
Do you like your salsa mild, spicy, or somewhere in between?
Mild - can't handle anything spicy
Margaritas-Frozen, on the rocks, or no thank you?
No thank you
Have you ever been to Mexico?
Yes, we crossed the border into Juarez many years ago when the children were small. We didn't stay very long, but long enough.
2. What's something you may do this month?
Wear makeup? Seriously, we may go to Dallas toward the end of the month.
3. Tell us what's happening in your state or town as far as restaurants/salons/parks/beaches/businesses opening up.
The lock down in Louisiana will end on the 15th of this month. That is when all small businesses should be able to open. I'm sure there will be restrictions as to the number of people allowed in some places. Right now the large stores are open and doing well while encouraging social distancing and the wearing of masks.
How do you feel about it?
I think it is time businesses were opened and people can return to work and the economy can be given the chance to rebound. I do think continuing to wear masks is a good thing, especially in our area which was so hard hit.
Are you out and about or hunkered down? Do you wear a mask?
We are pretty much hunkered down. We do go to the grocery stores and Dick has made multiple trips to Lowes, but we always wear a mask. It's just the responsible thing to do right now.
4. Mother nature, everybody and their mother, mom jeans, like mother like daughter, soccer mom, mother hen, mother lode, necessity is the mother of invention, stay-at-home mom...pick one and tell us how it applies to your life right now.
I'm going with Mother nature because this mother is all about going a'natural these days.
5. April showers bring May flowers...what's blooming in your yard or garden today?
6. Insert your own random thought here.
As part of our trying to stay in touch with each other, I am taking pictures of our Sunday School Class members (from a distance) and doing a weekly "News From the Front Porch" feature on our Facebook page.
Yesterday, I took pictures of our youth minister and his little family. I just have to share these adorable pictures of his son that I captured.
The Front Porch project is sweeping the country and below is one of our granddaughter Chandler and her husband Brad with furry son, Samson that was featured in Dallas recently.
So, what's happening on your front porch?
Your granddaughter is beautiful! I've not heard anything about the Front Porch project here in Alabama. Instead, our pastor is making end-of-driveway visits to (willing) parishioners and sharing their video-taped greetings on FB.
ReplyDeleteLOL-ing on the make-up. On a whim last week I styled my hair and applied cosmetics -- but I don't think hubby even noticed.
I do love enchiladas. I'm not crazy about fish taco's. Love you answer of make-up....LOL! Yes people need to get back to work, our economy needs it. I love the flowers. You know Adam and Gabby had never yet gotten professional photos of James, however recently a friend of a friend asked if she could do front porch photos. I had never heard of it before. They came out really cute. How nice of you to be working on that.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is such a beautiful girl! SC is opening up a little at a time and some people are sensible and others are not. Course that's true pandemic or not pandemic : ) I hope you get to make that trip to Dallas! Happy Mother's Day to you!
