Do you think actors should use their acceptance speeches as an opportunity to promote their political and/or social agenda? Does that sort of speech make you more or less inclined to change the channel?

Welcome, I’m Libby
Thank you for visiting my blog. I live in Plano, Texas where my husband and I are very involved in being happy senior adults. You will find that my blog reflects our lives and activities as well as the goings-on of our two grown children and ten grandchildren. There may even be something the Lord leads me to compose and share. Needless to say, we stay busy and sharing our busyness with you makes me happy. I do hope you will stop by and share a cup of tea with me often.

I just spent about 15 minutes going through magazines to add to our recycling this morning : ) Happy birthday to your grandson!
ReplyDeleteOh, I have a hard time with my Southern Lady and Southern Living magazines as well. But, I just threw a huge stack away and took some to the thrift store for them to give away. They were thrilled and that made me happy.
ReplyDeleteI remembered every one of those stories you mentioned as well, especially Henny Penny. How funny!
Happy Wednesday!
Our pastor gave me a Life magazine dated back to 1956. I read it yesterday. Absolutely brought back many memories. In its day it was The magazine to buy and read.
ReplyDeleteI love my Southern Living. I share them with preschool
teachers as they are the best for preschoolers to cut out pictures and make projects.
Have a blessed day
Happy Birthday to your grandson! I'm sure he will thank you for that 1st picture!
ReplyDeleteThe "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" anecdote is so sweet :) I often pester my husband out of bed with a much more annoying rendition!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, traditional fairy tales are something nightmares are made of.
I'm a magazine hoarder too! I recently went through a stack and tore out the pages of recipes and what ever else I want to keep. Now I need to find time to organize all that. :)
ReplyDeleteI used to be a big magazine gal too, but not anymore. Haven't bought one in years. Happy birthday to your grandson. Sure has grown up to be a handsome man! Enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteWe used to get more magazines. I found myself not reading them as much. They do pile up quickly I've noticed with the ones we still get.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!
I have a stack of about 7 magazines sitting on my kitchen counter that I've had for months and have yet to read. I should just go ahead and toss them. Hope your grandson has a Happy BD!
ReplyDeleteI have no memories of anyone reading to me at night. My parents were not readers and my mother was a very depressed woman. Happy Birthday to Jackson!
