The plate belonged to a dear old friend who would be nearing 100 years old now. It belonged to her aunt and was given to "Granny" in 1933. I love the cracks and chips, but especially the color and significance.

There may even be something the Lord leads me to compose and share. Needless to say, we stay busy and sharing our busyness with you makes me happy. I do hope you will stop by and share a cup of tea with me often.

Libby, everything is coming together so beautifully! I love your new rug and how your porch looks with all the additional decorative touches. I, also, love your collection of "treasures". I have many myself that are of great sentimental value. Enjoy your new sitting area!
ReplyDeleteHi Libby, It looks like you have been one very busy lady. What a fun rug to use as your design inspiration. I know you will love spending time out there, just in time for the warmer months. Thank you for visiting my blog today and for inviting me to your blog! You are doing a great job,

Love it! The rug is just great and yes, to those chairs. Really like the look they give. And, I'm not sure I would paint those finials, they are really pretty the way they are. :o) Happy week!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I've never been to Ikea? There is one that is about an hour away. I think a trip is in order. Loving the open shelving and outdoor area! xo
ReplyDeleteThe porch enclosure looks great from the outside (inside too). I would recommend painting the column finials a dark color to contrast against the white of your porch. Maybe a near navy blue which would go well with your terra cotta urns.
ReplyDeleteWow! It's so nice to spend some time at your porch as you sip a cup of Joe every morning. You've done a great job in redesigning it! Your new rug looks perfect with your awesome chairs. I guess it's time for me to shop at Ikea and see what I can purchase for my kitchen redo. :)

I love the porch enclosure that you put up. That is something that I would be great for my home. We are going to look into that. http://www.myawningguy.com/porch-enclosures.html
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to decide on some porch designs. I want it to be really unique. I don't what to spend any money on something that I will hate in the future. Hopefully I will find something that will be perfect to me. http://www.myawningguy.com/porch-enclosures.html
