Golf, Hats, Mirrors, and Friends

This is my first time to join Joyce for Wednesday Hodgepodge.  I look forward to joining other bloggers for this weekly posting.

1. Have you ever played golf? Any interest in playing? Do you have a significant other who loves to play? Did you watch The Masters this past weekend?
I did take golf one semester in college, but have no interest in playing whatsoever.  Hubby has played but his philosophy is,"Why do something for relaxation that creates stress?"  Therefore, he does not play golf.  Our son and son-in-law are both avid golfers and SIL is what we might call addicted - actually, he just loves the sport and is quite good.

2. Hats are back in fashion this spring...how do you feel about wearing a hat? (fyi-I'm not talking baseball caps) When was the last time you wore one?
Well, lets see.  The last time I actually wore a hat for dress purposes was 1964.  I was in college and wore one for Easter that year.   I wore this large brim sun hat the year our whole family vacationed together in Florida, but it looked so much better on my adorable little Ava Grace.  I do still occasionally wear it when working outside.

3. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 meaning proficient and 1 meaning "I'd starve", how adept are you at using chopsticks?
1 - No doubt, I would STARVE!

4. Has technology taken over?
Oh yes indeed it has.  When I worked, I was always on the computer for reports, research, data, communication, etc.  Now that I am retired, I find that I am either checking emails, doing Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest for recipes and ideas, texting, or reading on either my desktop, IPad, or IPhone all during the day.  I even use an old phone for audiobooks at the gym.  I'm afraid we take for granted technology that is used in almost every avenue of our lives from church to school to shopping and even the alarm.  So yes, I'd say we're hooked!

5. In the course of a day how often do you look in a mirror?
Consciously?   Only when I'm dressing or doing makeupBut, I love to decorate with mirrors and have several in my house.  I can't walk into my bath without facing a large mirror.  So, I probably gaze into a mirror many times a day without even being aware of the reflection.

6.Tulip or Daffodil?
They are both so pretty and represent Spring, but I think I'll say Tulip.
7. I am proud of myself for accomplishing the things I was able to do at each new administrative position I held.  I am proud of myself for adapting so quickly to retirement.  And I'm proud of my first HOA Newsletter I edited this month.  Of course, I did not do any of this alone.  "I am nothing without Christ!"

8. Insert your own random thought here.
We had our special neighbor friends over for dinner last night.  We always enjoy spending time with them and sharing a meal together.  This is the first time we have had friends next door that we exchanged door keys and felt free to go over and borrow something if one of us wasn't home.  We share food and take out each others garbage and pick up the mail when we're out of town.  We know we can "borrow" a bedroom when out-of-town company spills over.  These are special friends indeed for whom we are so grateful.

  2. Welcome to the HP! I'm glad you played along today. I have to add that I love that arrangement on your side table in front of the mirror. I was looking for something wide for my hall table but now that I see yours I'm thinking tall instead. Plus your colors are my colors : )

I'm following along here now. Have a nice week!
